Most commonly ask quetsions!
We can prepare a quote quickly—typically within 24 hours after assessing your project. This can be done by visiting the site in person or reviewing photos of the area you’d like painted.
Homeowners paint their houses for all sorts of reasons—some paint to personalize their home once they've purchased it, and others freshen up the exterior prior to selling in order to add curb appeal. Generally speaking, a house must be repainted every 5 to 10 years, or every 4 to 7 years if stained. Beachfront homes will require more frequent painting due to salt air exposure.".
There are several factors that will decide how long a painting job will last. Heavy sanding and scraping, which are proper preparation techniques, are big factors, as is the quality of paint being used. A poorly insulated or un-insulated house with no decent moisture barrier can lead to peeling because of interior moisture that becomes trapped. In addition, rotten siding, deteriorated caulking, and worn-out weather protection can cause siding to shrink, crack, or warp, and nails to begin popping through. Regular maintenance and timely repainting can maintain your home's exterior in good condition and protected from the elements. With stain, you’ll notice the wood beginning to dry out over time. Paint, on the other hand, can become chalky or faded with prolonged sun exposure. Lower-quality paints with minimal pigment may even appear in varying shades depending on the sunlight. Stucco surfaces should be repainted every 5 to 7 years to prevent cracking and deterioration, as neglect can lead to pieces breaking away from the house.
The majority of home owners maintain a schedule of repainting their house every 5 to 7 years, much like getting an oil change for a vehicle—performing preventive maintenance on the exterior of their house to prevent costly repairs from becoming unavoidable.
A typical exterior paint job on a 2,500-square-foot home will run between 5 and 7 days, depending upon how much sanding, repairing, re-glazing, and prep must be done."We send a team large enough to get the work done quickly without having to race through the job. Rather than some contractors drag out a job by using one or two painters on the job, we keep your house from being a lengthy, extended construction site.Interior painting projects typically take the same amount of time, depending on the number of rooms and how much prep work is needed.
We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. We also offer financing and have it available through a third-party bank.Financing can be a great option if you want to do more on your project and paint everything all at once, or if you're listing your house for sale and want to put some curb appeal on it to sell it faster.
A number of factors determine how many coats a painting will need. For exterior work, we use a heavy-duty, high-quality primer and the best quality paint Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore have to offer to hold up and last.
If the color is remaining the same or a little different, one coat of each (top coat and primer) will usually suffice.".
For a full color change, we apply two coats of exterior paint for full coverage.Stain work typically requires two coats, unless the wood isn't very dry and you specifically ask for one.Sometimes we apply two coats to the side of the house which is sunny and one to any other side, but for the most part we suggest two full coats to provide maximum protection. While painting aluminum or vinyl siding, we always apply two thin coats for an even coverage and adhesion.
Yes—according to the EPA's Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule, any business doing renovation, repair, or painting work that disturbs lead-based paint on homes, child care facilities, and pre-schools built before 1978 needs to be certified by the EPA (or an EPA-authorized state). To keep yourself safe and in compliance, you should only hire certified painting contractors who have received training from EPA-approved providers and apply lead-safe work practices.
Checking for lead is easy, and we always take precautions. We use a 3M LeadCheck swab—if the swab becomes red, we know there's lead.If you have general questions concerning lead paint, the EPA maintains a special hotline for questions: 1-800-424-LEAD.
We invite you to call us at least two weeks in advance to schedule your project. That being said, due to our size and the number of crews we maintain, we are generally able to accommodate clients with a tight deadline, be it for a party, sale of the house, or other time-sensitive event.
We use only Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams because they have a higher quality. They both offer low, mid-level, and high-level paints, but we only use their top-grade stuff for best endurance and finish. We prefer to use these two, but if you already know your favorite paint brand, we would be happy to use the same.

We will move any heavy furniture that we cannot work around and will cover everything with plastic and tarps for protection.
Exterior Painting
Store small items like potted plants away from the house.
If you have window unit ACs, bring them in—we can assist if necessary.".
Do not park near your house while we are working.
Turn on your yard hose water for our use.
Yes, you can go work, run your errands, or get on with your day as we paint. We are fully covered and licensed, so you don't have to stress while we're working in your home.".We understand that having painters in your house can be a bit intrusive, but relax—we're just there to paint and get your house looking fabulous. We've painted hundreds of houses, both inside and outside, and you don't need to clean before we arrive!
For interior painting, we can't provide a binding and precise quote based solely on a description. For an accurate estimate, we need to see photos of the rooms, wall surfaces, and details involved.
This permits us to assess the surfaces' condition and determine what preparation work is needed to obtain the best results.
For work outside, we apply an alkyd/oil hybrid primer with a latex top coat. Semi-transparent stains use an oil stain and solid stains a latex stain. Oil enamel paint is applied to metal railings.".
Outside oil paints were prohibited decades ago, and hence they are no longer applied. Inside, we typically employ a latex top coat with an alkyd/oil primer or a latex primer, based on the situation. Occasionally, there is even the application of an oil-based top coat for indoor use.
For interior and exterior painting, we typically need your color choices done a day before we start. For outside painting, if there is going to be lots of prep involved, you may have a few more days, even after we start.".For interior painting, during the prep stage, we can try sample colors on the walls so that you get to see them as they look in real life before having to commit.
We will replace rotten wood trim, siding, and shingles where necessary to weatherproof your house completely and make it no longer vulnerable to additional rot. Our aim is to leave your house safe and in great shape upon completion of the work.
For an average-sized home, we send out a crew of 3 to 5 painters. For larger homes or for tight schedules, we send 8 to 10 painters to get the job done on time. With multiple crews working across the state daily, we can concentrate resources when we need to—one advantage that sets us apart from many other contractors.
If you need us to do some more work, we can simply discuss it and add the necessary time and materials to the quote. In case you wish to change color once you paint (it does occur!), we can repaint the space or room for an additional fee to cover the extra paint and labor.
Outside paint usually dries to the touch in two hours and we require at least four hours' drying time before we can put on a second coat.Inside paint usually dries to the touch in one to two hours, depending on conditions.
No, you won't have to be concerned with cleanup. We put everything we relocate back in place, remove all of our scrap, trash, and materials, and vacuum where needed. We want to leave your home looking exactly the same—except for a new, gorgeous paint job.
The life of paint is a matter of climate, sunlight, and surface to be painted. If well prepared with good sanding, slow-drying primer, good caulking, good moisture barrier, and no gutter issues, high-end paint (all we use) should last 8 to 10 years.".Stain is a bit harder to predict since its lifespan is based on sun exposure, weather, and color depth. Depending on these factors, stain lasts between 4 and 12 years.
We always have leftover paint at the end of a job, and we are happy to leave it with you for touch-ups.
No, a full on-site visit is not necessary for an exterior painting quote. A quick telephone call or email response to several key questions is all we need.To provide you with an accurate quotation, we'll need to know:
The surfaces that need painting (house, garage, deck, etc.).
Re-glazing of windows or any carpentry work necessary.
Whether you’re planning a complete color change.
For an additional layer of convenience, we also have a mobile app that can speed up the quote process for interior and exterior painting.
We can provide you with a fan deck of paint samples to review during our meeting. You can also get sample cards from retailers like Lowe's and Home Depot and review other options.
No, you don't need to do anything with the repairs yourself. Even if there is major damage, we do all the repairs that need to be done as part of our preparation. On major repairs, we bundle them in the quote as a special charge so you will know upfront.
We always watch the weather, though with the Arizona sun it is not normally a worry. Rainfall/dust storm on a freshly painted surface is rare since we monitor. However, in case of rainfall, we shall be back when the surface dries up, reprepare the area covered, and repaint the portion so that the finish will be flawless.
